Library Philatelic
Exhibits
Each year, since 2003, I have
exhibited portions of my
postal librariana collection in a couple of
the
World Series of Philately Stamp Shows which are
certified by the
American Philatelic Society (APS). My
major exhibit is now entitled "America's Libraries 1731-1920".
It has previously been exhibited
under the title "America's Libraries" and "The Story of America's Libraries".
This exhibit is entered in the
Display Division which allows the most flexibility in the kinds of philatelic
and non-philatelic items which can be included in the exhibit. It consists
of 10 frames with 16 mounted pages in each frame. I have created a
synopsis
of the exhibit to assist judges in evaluating the exhibit. The section of
the exhibit devoted to America's Membership Libraries in the 2005 version of my exhibit
can be seen by going to this
page.
I have also developed other
library related philatelic exhibits which have been displayed at stamp shows.
These include: America's Presidential Libraries (4 frames);
A Tale of Two
Library Stamps (7 frames) and America's Philatelic Library: The American
Philatelic Research
Library (1 frame).
